Most people fall in love with Rottweilers at first sight. They will never acquire another breed of dog once they have had a chance to deal with the Rottweiler. Breed fanciers claim that this is the only breed that will never suffer from the lack of human attention. The Rottweiler is too respectable to become a fashion dog and be ruined by irresponsible breeders, yet too good to lose its admirers no matter how many new breeds are created.

Though the Rottweiler is officially a police dog, it can serve as a guard dog and companion. It is a good working dog that has a variety of uses. Physically fit, the breed is a perfect companion for energetic people. It will enjoy a walk in any weather. The dog is a good swimmer and can travel long distances with its owner. A hiking tour is a wonderful opportunity for any breed owner to enjoy the dog's companionship.

Despite numerous advantages of the breed, it is not for everybody. Rottweilers are not recommended for novices. One has to be experienced with dogs and feel ready to train the Rottweiler. Rottweilers will not obey shy people. In fact, they need a firm hand in training.

Do not acquire a dog if you cannot devote much time to your pet. Rottweilers are very sociable and hard working dogs. Much attention and something to be busy with is essential for the breed. Absence of work makes Rottweilers bored.
